Mit Back to the Blues, dem 13. Soloalbum, kehrte Gary Moore zu seinem traditionellen Blues-Stil zurück.

Am 13. Oktober veröffentlicht BMG das Album erstmals auf Vinyl, aber auch neu auf CD und in digitalen Formaten. Die Veröffentlichung enthält neben den Songs des Originals die Bonustitel „Picture of the Moon“ im Single Edit, sowie „Cold black Night” und „Stormy Monday“ in Live at VH1 Versionen. Dave Everley hat aktuelle Liner Notes verfasst.
