MALCOLM MIDDLETON - Neues Solowerk
Im Moment noch auf "Farewell Tour" mit Arab Strab, steht Malcolm Middletons neuestes Solo-Output schon in den Startlöchern: A Brighter Beat (Ende Februar) wurde in Mogwais "Castle of Doom" Studio aufgenommen und als Gäste beteiligt war das Who-is-Who der Glasgower Musikszene -Barry Burns (Mogwai), Jenny Reeve (Reindeer Section), Paul Savage (Delgados), Mick Cooke (Belle & Sebastian) u.a.
Malcolm beschreibt's wohl am besten selbst: "The album is pretty much more of the same but newer. Song titles include "We're All Going To Die", "A Brighter Beat", "Death Love Depression Love Death", and "Fuck It, I Love You". If I was forced to describe it (which I am) I'd probably say it was "a pop album for people who hate pop music".
