Am Ende ist Countdown eine durchaus solide, aber alles andere als spektakuläre Hard Rock Scheibe geworden.

Die knackige Hymne „Thief in the Night“, der fantastische Opener „Return to the Sky” mit seinem nach vorne los gehendem Rock’n’Roll Feeling oder die dramatische, an Narnia erinnernde Midtempo Nummer „Cry of the Wounded“ wären in der Lage, das Album auf Medallienränge zu hieven.

Die vielen Filler sorgen allerdings dafür, dass Driver deutlich niedriger ins Ziel gehen.
