Mozart on the Road
Das zweite Album des im Staate New York geborenen Winston Montgomery bietet Country und angerockten Country bzw. US Folk. Handwerklich ist das Material, das stellenweise sehr seltsame Titel für seine Songs hat (z.b: „I like lunch“ – tatsächlich ein Hohelied auf das Mittagessen!) sicherlich gut eingespielt, aber es ist und bleibt biederer Stoff. Dann und wann machen die Gitarren Spaß und manchmal grooved es auch ganz nett, jedoch die für Homecountry Aufnahmen typische und langweilige Stimme lässt einen schnell auf die Skip oder Stoptaste drücken. Die zehn Stücke sind insgesamt tiefster US Schlager, der dann und wann witzig sein will, dem das aber nicht gelingt.
Genrefans sollten mal reinhören, aber das hier ist wohl nur was für ganz beinharte Fans.
